Due to the ongoing SARS-Cov-2 / Covid-19 pandemic, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics has been officially postponed until 2021.

This happened after Canada and later Australia officially announced they will not send athletes to the games while the pandemic was ongoing, with more likely to have followed suit.

This is obviously very good. Earlier, the olympics commitee said they were against post-poning the vent until later. I'm glad that, my country, Canada is winning by giving the exemple.

When was the last time we had an Olympics with teams pulling out? I know Russia was supposedly suspended due to doping charges, but a team actually pulling out of their own volition... has that happened since 80/84?

It makes sense because a lot of the athletes couldn't train properly before the event and they wouldn't be at their best.
